With increasing reliance on digital systems and data in nearly every aspect of modern life, the need for strong digital governance has never been greater. The evolution of new and emerging technologies presents a significant opportunity for Canada to reinforce its position as a global leader in data governance and as a nation committed to promoting domestic digital innovation.
Members of the former CIO Strategy Council identified the pressing need to build trusted governance with the growing early use of emerging technologies that have a material effect on how Canadians safely participate in the digital economy. Their insight, expertise, and forward thinking have led to our transition to the Digital Governance Council.
The Digital Governance Council works to provide Canadians with confidence in the responsible design, architecture and management of digital technologies through four streams of activity:
