The Delegation of the European Union to Canada, in close collaboration with the Digital Governance Council, organized a high-level workshop on Digital Interoperability and Mutual Recognition between the European Union and Canada on October 6, 2025.

Hosted by Senator Colin Deacon, the event convened senior officials, policymakers, and digital innovation leaders from both sides of the Atlantic to explore practical pathways toward enhanced digital interoperability and the mutual recognition.

The workshop featured in-depth discussions on real-world use cases for mutual recognition and strategic approaches to advancing transatlantic collaboration in digital governance and innovation, including shared findings from the Study on EU-Canada Digital Trust Interoperability.
