The CIO Strategy Council is proud to announce the publication of a new national standard for scalable remote access infrastructure. This standard presents a set of requirements for organizations to mitigate security risks associated with, and scalability demands upon, enterprise technologies used for remote access. The standard provides guidance to organizations needing to react to unprecedented and unplanned shifts in their workforce to support remote work from home.
CAN/CIOSC 100-4: 2023 Data Governance – Part 4: Scalable Remote Access Infrastructure, is available for download on the CIO Strategy Council website. This standard is a maintenance update to the Publicly Available Specification which was launched by the CIO Strategy Council in 2020.
“The COVID-19 pandemic brought to light the need for an accessible framework to support remote and work from home arrangements. The infrastructure that remote workers use – personal or employer-provided laptops that connect to the corporate network via VPNs and home WiFi – may not be able to scale rapidly and presents cybersecurity risks. We are happy to launch this standard that presents a set of requirements for organizations to mitigate security risks associated with, and scalability demands upon, enterprise technologies used for remote access.
– Darryl Kingston, Senior Director of Standards, CIO Strategy Council
