CIO Strategy Council Releases Results from National Workshop on Developing a National Standard for the CyberSecure Canada Program

TORONTO, February 10, 2020 – The CIO Strategy Council is pleased to share the results of the online workshop on developing a national standard for the CyberSecure Canada Program held January 15, 2020.

The findings will help inform the work of the CIO Strategy Council’s Technical Committee on Cybersecurity as it works to develop a National Standard of Canada for the cybersecurity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) engaged the CIO Strategy Council to develop a National Standard of Canada for the CyberSecure Canada Program and is working closely with its Government of Canada partners, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and the Communications Security Establishment, to lay out a path for businesses to improve their cyber posture.

The National Standard of Canada is scheduled for completion by the end of October 2020.

All interested parties are welcome to join the CIO Strategy Council’s Technical Committee on Cybersecurity. Come help shape a national standard for the CyberSecure Canada Program and the tools needed to build SME cyber resilience.
