Digital Governance Council takes part in Groundbreaking “Futureproofing the Community Workforce” Initiative

In a landmark development for the Canadian nonprofit sector, the Digital Governance Council (DGC) has joined forces with Imagine Canada, The Dais Institute, and Blueprint to launch “Futureproofing the Community Workforce”. This initiative, designed to equip the nonprofit community with the digital tools and strategies necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving digital landscape, symbolizes a significant step forward in collective efforts to enhance digital resilience within the sector.

A Partnership for Digital Resilience

At the heart of this collaboration is the Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience (CCNDR), co-founded by the Digital Governance Council, Tamarack Institute, NTEN, SETSI and Imagine Canada.  CCNDR has quickly established itself as a critical resource for nonprofits seeking to bolster their digital capabilities. By fostering a culture of innovation and resilience, the CCNDR aims to ensure that nonprofits are not only able to withstand digital disruptions but also thrive in an increasingly digital world.

“Futureproofing the Community Workforce”: A Vision for Tomorrow

The “Futureproofing the Community Workforce” project represents a concerted effort to address the digital skills gap within the nonprofit sector. With technology playing an ever-greater role in every aspect of organizational operations, from fundraising to service delivery, the need for a digitally savvy workforce has never been more acute. Funded by the Government of Canada’s Skills for Success program, this initiative seeks to bridge this gap, offering resources, training, and support to empower nonprofit professionals with the skills they need for the future.

Launch of a New Survey

As part of the “Futureproofing the Community Workforce” project, a new survey has been launched to gather insights into the current state of digital skills within the community workforce.

This survey will be open till March 29, 2024, available in both English and Français.

It is an essential tool in identifying the specific needs and challenges faced by nonprofit professionals in the digital domain. Your input will play a crucial role in shaping the resources and training programs developed as part of the “Futureproofing the Community Workforce” initiative, ultimately benefiting the entire nonprofit sector.

This collaborative project marks a significant milestone in the journey towards a more digitally empowered and resilient nonprofit community in Canada. Through initiatives like these, the sector is well-positioned to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the digital age, ensuring a vibrant and sustainable future for all.
