Exploratory Set of National Standards Proposed: User-centric Consent-Driven Approach to Data Access, Interoperability and Mobility

OTTAWA, ON – In today’s digital age there is a potential shift towards greater autonomy over personal information, enhanced data portability, and more transparent data practices. As our digital footprints expand, these newly proposed standards could provide a framework for balancing individual privacy rights with the need for data-driven innovation, ultimately fostering a more trustworthy and user-empowering digital ecosystem.

“In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, a user-centric approach to data consent and mobility is not just beneficial—it’s essential. These proposed standards represent a crucial step towards empowering individuals with greater control over their data while fostering innovation and trust in our digital ecosystem. We believe that by developing standards in this area, we can help create a more transparent, flexible, and user-friendly approach to data governance.”

– Darryl Kingston, Executive Director of DGSI
