The Digital Governance Council (DGC) has announced new training dates for its AI Ethics course series, providing organizations and professionals with additional opportunities to strengthen their understanding of responsible artificial intelligence governance and deployment.
Delivered in partnership with the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii), the two interactive virtual workshops are designed to help participants develop practical skills for implementing trustworthy AI while addressing emerging governance, regulatory, and ethical challenges. The courses complement the Council’s broader AI initiatives, including the AI Ethics and Data Advisory Panel, which supports Canadian organizations in advancing responsible AI and data governance practices.
The newly available sessions include:
AI Ethics 1 – Governance
- September 24, 2026
- February 18, 2027
AI Ethics 2 – Deployment
- October 22, 2026
- March 18, 2027
AI Ethics 1 – Governance introduces participants to AI governance frameworks, ethical-by-design principles, emerging regulations, and practical approaches for identifying and mitigating AI-related risks. Through real-world case studies, participants learn how governance practices can improve organizational resilience, market acceptance, and stakeholder trust.
AI Ethics 2 – Deployment builds on these foundations by focusing on the practical implementation of responsible AI. Participants explore explainable AI (XAI), fairness metrics, bias detection and mitigation, continuous monitoring strategies, and the development of organization-wide ethical AI frameworks that support responsible deployment throughout the AI lifecycle.
The courses are intended for business leaders, AI practitioners, governance professionals, risk managers, compliance teams, and others responsible for developing, procuring, or deploying AI systems.
Organizations and individuals interested in participating can register through the Digital Governance Council’s online course catalogue:
