Ottawa, ON — The Digital Governance Standards Institute (DGSI) announces the commencement of a scheduled periodic maintenance review of DGSI 119-2, Election and Voting Technologies – Part 2: Electronic Poll Books, beginning today February 18, 2026 and continuing through May 20, 2026.

DGSI 119-2 establishes minimum technical design, operational, security, privacy, and auditability requirements for electronic poll books (EPBs), including hardware, software, and system configurations. The standard supports secure, transparent, and resilient voter check-in processes and is intended for use by hardware manufacturers, software developers, system integrators, and election administrators.

This periodic maintenance is conducted in accordance with DGSI procedures to ensure that the standard remains current, responsive to emerging cybersecurity threats, aligned with evolving best practices in secure software development and supply chain risk management, and reflective of stakeholder and jurisdictional needs..

DGSI encourages election administrators, vendors, cybersecurity professionals, policymakers, accessibility advocates, and other stakeholders to participate in this review process.
