The Digital Governance Standards Institute (DGSI) has opened a 30-day public review of DGSI 135: Digital capability assessment framework for nonprofit organizations, inviting input from stakeholders to refine and strengthen the framework for assessing and enhancing digital maturity across the nonprofit sector.
Published to provide clear and consistent guidance, DGSI 135 helps nonprofit organizations delivering community and human service programming to define the depth, diversity and complexity of their digital capabilities. The Standard is particularly relevant to nonprofit organizations with basic digital needs, as opposed to those with highly technical missions or stakeholders requiring advanced digital capabilities.
DGSI is now seeking feedback from nonprofit leaders, sector experts, funders, digital transformation professionals, and researchers to ensure the framework remains relevant and effective in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

DGSI 135 offers a practical, structured approach to digital capability assessment, covering critical areas such as governance, strategy, technology, data management, and organizational skills. It is designed to assist nonprofits of all sizes in making evidence-based decisions about their digital investments and operational efficiency.
