Technical Specification for Agricultural Blockchain – Traceability of Canola Through the Canadian Supply Chain
This is the First Edition of CIOSC/TS 114:2021, Technical Specification for Agricultural Blockchain – Traceability of Canola Through the Canadian Supply Chain.
This Specification presents a set of requirements to manage the traceability of canola, from crop production through handling and processing to retail distribution for consumers.
This Specification applies to all organizations, including public and private companies, government entities, and not-for-profit organizations involved in the supply of canola and its products, to the distribution level.
While it has been identified that interoperability can play a crucial role in the supply chain. At the time of publication, it was determined that the technology may not widely accessible. To not create barriers for adoption, interoperability is out of scope for this edition of the Specification.
The distribution to the consumer market is not in scope of this document.
NOTE: Internationally recognized interoperability requirements can be found in GS1, EPC Information Services (EPCIS) Version 1.1 Specification
