Reaffirmation of National Standard of Canada: CAN/DGSI 109-1

Ottawa – The Digital Governance Standards Institute (DGSI) is pleased to announce the reaffirmation of the CAN/DGSI 109-1, Privacy – Part 1: Qualification and Proficiency of Access-to-Information, Privacy, and Data Protection Professionals. This standard serves as a crucial framework that outlines the qualifications and proficiencies required for privacy and access control professionals across the country.

In today’s digital economy, the demand for privacy professionals capable of safeguarding valuable data continues to rise. However, organizations often face challenges in identifying candidates equipped with the necessary qualifications to fulfill these roles effectively. CAN/DGSI 109-1 addresses this gap by outlining core competencies essential for privacy professionals, including critical domains such as information privacy, access to information, and data protection. Moreover, it assists organizations in developing comprehensive training and certification programs to ensure the proficiency of their privacy professionals.

The reaffirmation of CAN/DGSI 109-1 underscores a commitment to enhancing the qualifications of professionals in the field, offering them a clear framework to navigate the complexities of privacy and data protection proficiently.
